 THE HISTORY OF LIGHT of FAITH CHRISTIAN BIBLE INSTITUTE

     God founded the Light of Faith Christian Bible Institute in October of 2016. With The DTM Bible Training Center closing in October 2016, burning deep within the hearts of Dr. Sherry Mehaffie and Dr. Pamela Brown, they knew within themselves that the vision God had given Pastor Sherry had to continue. Therefore, the Light of Faith Christian Bible Institute was launched. “The goal is to help people understand the Bible and use the teachings of Christ to minister to people of all faith.  We try very hard not to cross over into teaching specific doctrine.”

      Light of Faith Christian Bible Institute is a Christian College that offers degree programs in the area of Bible study for those who wish to learn.  Because the college is registered with the West Virginia Higher Education Policy, specific courses of study are offered so students can receive anything from a certificate in Basic Bible Studies to a Doctorate of Divinity. With classes such as Basic Bible Studies, Discovering the Bible, Old Testament Survey, New Testament Survey, Revelation, Spiritual Warfare and so many more it allows for students of all ages.  The students can decide to be Non-Degree Seeking students or they can go from Associate all the way to a Doctorate. Doctorate of Youth Ministry, Evangelism, Divinity, and Christian Counseling are just some of the degrees offered.

     The school was designed as a long- term program with a variety of courses that are rooted and grounded in the Word of God. The Light of Faith CBI continues to fulfill the divine mandate each and every year as students are educated and equipped with life changing teaching, then sent forth to reap the end time harvest. God has commissioned us to go into the world and preach the gospel and so we, here at Light of Faith Christian Bible Institute are training them up and sending them out. We encourage our students and they go out into the world and put their faith into action.

     We are fully accredited by the WORLD-WIDE ACCREDITATION COMMISSION OF CHRISTIAN EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS (WWAC). Light of Faith CBI offers a wide variety of religious degrees. However, we do not offer any “Secular Arts” (which represents a wide scope of studies including such subjects as secular education, human relations, literature, etc.), or Ph.D. degrees. A Ph.D. doesn’t have to do with the study of philosophy.

     It is awarded for study in many fields such as Communications, Management, Education, Human Relations, etc. The West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission does not consider it a religious degree, so LOFCBI does not offer it.  May you be encouraged to go out into the world, and put your faith and God-given calling into action.
